The numerical solution of ordinary differential equations is by now a very old subject. It’s a surprise, therefore, that there’s anything new to say about it at a basic level. This talk uses two very simple examples, the leaky bucket and the Dahlquist test problem, to demonstrate that there is indeed something new to say. This talk will be accessible to undergraduates.
