Recent Awards:

  • March 2012: The UBC Institute of Applied Mathematics  won the 2010/11 Peter Larkin award, which is granted annually to a graduate program or department that has significantly contributed to student development and graduate education.
  •  April 2011: A former IAM Director, Prof. Michael Ward, was awarded the 2011 CAIMS Research Prize for his significant successful combination of singular perturbation techniques and numerical methods to analyze boundary-value problems arising in a wide range of applied fields. Michael also gave a prize lecture at the 2011 CAIMS Annual Meeting in Vancouver.
