We are pleased to welcome Christoph Ortner as the new director of the Institute of Applied Mathematics.
     A longstanding member of the IAM, Christoph is an internationally recognized researcher whose work focuses on the mathematical foundations of molecular modelling, multiscale modelling, and coarse-graining. His research combines rigorous mathematical and numerical analysis with algorithm design and scientific applications. More recently, he has been developing machine learning and geometric deep learning methods, working collaboratively with researchers across physics, chemistry, materials science, and engineering. In addition to his research achievements, he brings experience in research administration and industry engagement.
