Elevation Gain: 1740 m
Total Distance: ~35 km
Ascent Time: 4 h 45 min (average)
Total Time: 9 h 45 min (average), including 50 min break on the summit
Weather: warm and sunny with a few clouds, cool breeze
Snow: snow patches SW and S of Fissile, steep snowfield on the SW slope
Equipment: hiking poles or ice-axe most advisable on the snow slope
Participation: 15 people, all summitted
Trail/Marking: gentle-graded trail to Russet Lake; ~1 km SW of the Lake veer off to S side of Fissile and climb a big snowfield on the SW slope to gain summit ridge, it's best to gain the ridge directly from snowfield without traversing the scree
Other Comments: lots of rotten rock and scree; watch out where to drop off the ridge on the way down; the route we took seemed the easiest, an approach through Fissile-Windwhirl pass might be unsafe as the snowfield/glacier below had some big crevasses open
