The Leonard S. Klinck building was until recently the Computer Science building and previously the
engineering building. Leonard Klinck (1877-1969) first visited Vancouver in 1914 to consult with University of British Columbia President Wesbrook in planning the future UBC and was invited to become Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture. In accepting the position, Klinck became the first appointment to the UBC faculty. Following the sudden death of Wesbrook in 1919, he became UBC's second president.
