UBC Storm The Wall 2009

An IAM team, The Chaotic Regime (#228), participated competitively in the mixed-gender CoRec division of the 2009 UBC Storm The Wall. The team members were: Jennifer Morrison (IAM-Math MSc, 450 m sprint), Erin Prosk (IAM-Math MSc, 1 km run), Ignacio Rozada (IAM-Math PhD, 2.8 km bike ride), Marek Labecki (IAM staff, 225 yd swim) and Will Thompson (IAM-Math MSc, wall person). On a rainy Wednesday, April 1st, we finished second out of nine in our heat with time 16:12. In the following semi-final on Friday, April 3rd, we finished fifth out of nine with time 15:17, almost a whole minute improvement from our previous race. Only the winner of the semi-final race could advance to the final on the same day. The team that beat us on Wednesday subsequently won the 2009 CoRec Championship.
